about me
i'm daryl harkin - mix engineer and producer based in derry, working with artists across northern ireland.
music has been the constant. i picked it up as a teenager and never put it down. a degree in music technology from queen's university belfast led me into venues, then touring, then broadcast - radio primarily, which i have a genuine passion for, but also live tv and studio work along the way.
that path shaped how i listen, how i communicate, and how i work under pressure. it shows up in every production.
i'm drawn to pop and alternative. that's where my taste and instincts are sharpest. but the common thread in everything i do is a love of interesting sounds and the craft of making them work together.
the artists i work best with bring something to the table - a point of view, a batch of songs, maybe a vision they can't quite articulate yet. my job is to meet you there and help you get it across the finish line.

i've worked in professional environments long enough to know what good sounds like, and what it takes behind the scenes to achieve it.

budget
i work with independent artists at all stages, from debut releases to established acts. if budget is a concern, mention it when you get in touch. i'd rather find a way to make it work than let it be a barrier.
