1st post, star wars in donegal, a website

hiyaz.

firstly, welcome to my blog! if you're reading this, then i've actually managed to put this website up - success!

i've just about wrapped things up on a special project for a local songwriter by the name of joe kelly. a tongue-in-cheek, fun irish country song about the recent filming of the star wars franchise in the picturesque setting of county donegal. through my live work, i'm no stranger to the intricacies and quirks of the genre, but capturing the performance for the recorded medium was a first for me. initial production of this track was carried out by eamonn karran, a talented artist in his own right, who played and recorded keys and synths.  this was also a first time working with the excellent jeff mccook, who provided a plethora of stringed instruments to proceedings. you'll find jeff at his day job as country sensation ritchie remo's guitarist.

a number of great vocalists were recorded, the most surprising of which was a local fella from limavady who is just about the best singer-that's-not-a-singer that i've ever met. his name is shaun smith and why he isn't treading boards in venues across the country is more than i know.

anyway, this post also marks the conception of a website for pushing the production side of my work. i've long served behind the desk in venues and love it to bits but i'm a creative and want to better serve that end of the music industry too.

hopefully this blog post isn't lonely for long. all the best
